How to update Ember's firmware

The steps to update your Ember's firmware depend on what firmware version is currently installed. The earliest versions require taking the machine apart, while later versions can be updated with a MicroSD card and a few clicks.

Check your firmware version

With Ember powered on and in the home position, hold down the left button for 5 seconds. When you release the button, Ember's control panel will display the firmware version that's currently installed on your Ember. Locate the instructions for your version below.

Step 1: Update your front panel and motor controller

  1. Get an AVR programmer or request one from us.
