Cleaning up resin

It's important to clean up any resin spills and drips as soon as they happen. If spilled resin isn't immediately cleaned up, it will cure and stain any surface it touches when exposed to UV light. Spilled resin can also come into accidental contact with skin or eyes, or be ingested, so it's important to wipe it up as soon as possible.

Tiny drips can usually be wiped up with just a paper towel, but resin spills must be cleaned up with the following procedure:

  1. Put on nitrile gloves to protect your hands from the resin
  2. Use a spray bottle of isopropyl alcohol (IPA) to wet the resin
  3. Wipe up the resin with paper towels
  4. Repeat spraying and wiping until clean

IPA is also helpful in the process of cleaning your resin tray, build plate, resin filter, freshly-printed models, and anything else that has come in contact with resin.

NOTE:

Always wear nitrile gloves, safety glasses, and protective clothing whenever handling liquid resin and using IPA.
