Download Ember Log Files

Via Web Interface Over USB

First make sure that you have the Ember USB Drivers installed by following this link https://support.ember.autodesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/210387407-Install-USB-Drivers Then follow these steps.

  1. Connect to Ember using a USB cable.
  2. Using a browser navigate to http://192.168.7.2
  3. Click the download logs button.

You should now have a file called smith-[your-firmware-version]-logs-[time-stamp].tar.gz

 

Via Web Interface Using IP Address

  1. Get Ember's IP address by holding the left button for 5 seconds and releasing.
  2. Navigate to that IP address in your browser
  3. Click the download logs button.

You should now have a file called smith-[your-firmware-version]-logs-[time-stamp].tar.gz

 

Via Terminal Over USB

Mac:
1. Connect to Ember via USB
2. Open Terminal (it's in the Utilities folder inside Applications)
3. Paste scp root@192.168.7.2:/var/log/syslog ~/Desktop in Terminal, then press Enter
4. If prompted, type yes to add your printer to the list of known hosts
5. Find the file called syslog on your desktop

Windows:
1. Connect to the printer via USB
2. Download PSCP
3. Select and copy this command: root@192.168.7.2:/var/log/syslog .\Desktop
3. Find where you downloaded PSCP
4. Open a Command Prompt (hit Windows Logo Key + R, then enter cmd into the Run box)
5. Drag PSCP into the command prompt window (it will insert the path to the file)
6. Hit space, then right-click in the window and select Paste
7. Hit Enter
8. If prompted, type y to add your printer to the list of known hosts
9. Find the file called syslog on your desktop
